Alumni Highlights
Avo Simonian entered the SAGE program in 2011 and served as an official SAGE intern at SES Insurance Brokerages Services, Inc. He graduated from UCI in 2014 with a B.S. in Mathematics, B.A. in Economics, and a minor in Statistics. Since graduating from UCI, Mr. Simonian has earned several certifications, including a Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School, and has been promoted in his last three jobs. Currently, Mr. Simonian serves as Vice President of Product Management at Ex Populus based in Berkeley, CA.
Laura Beck entered the SAGE program in 2013. She served as part of the leadership board for the SAGE Club to create a sense of community for her peers. Beck graduated with a dual Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering. She is now a Principal Systems Engineer – Contamination Control for Northrop Grumman.
Laura Beck
Francisco Villegas entered the SAGE program in 2017 and interned at Air Industry Company, a partner of Precision Castparts Corp. As an intern, he acquired valuable technical and communication skills under the guidance of his supervisor and coworkers. The internship provided an experience that helped him grow as a manufacturing engineer. Villegas graduated from UCI in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is currently working as a Service Engineer at Boeing.
Angel Sutoyo entered the SAGE program in 2001 and interned for Bank of America. She graduated from UCI in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science and was recognized by the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Sutoyo has been promoted multiple times within Bank of America and recently celebrated 21 years of service. Currently, she serves as the Senior Vice President- Senior Relationship Manager.
Dr. Ces’ Ari Garcia-Delmuro entered the SAGE Program in 2008 and served as an official SAGE intern at the Tiger Woods Foundation. She graduated from UCI in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Dr. Garcia-Delmuro is now an English Language Arts Teacher at Diamond Bar High School, Diamond Bar, California. She is also the co-founder of Latinx Education LLC, through this platform Dr. Garcia-Delmuro serves first-generation, Latinx, and BIPOC in academic and professional skill development through workshops, coaching, and editing services.
