The SAGE Scholars Program is a multi-faceted program that provides many benefits for its student scholars. SAGE targets and recruits highly motivated and talented undergraduate students at UC Irvine who demonstrate a significant financial need.
Through SAGE guidance and mentorship, students develop and refine skills needed to help them excel and flourish in their undergraduate and post-undergraduate endeavors.
|Professional and Leadership Development||If selected to participate in the program, students undergo training and coursework dedicated to developing students’ leadership skills and business acumen. Training includes, but is not limited to: resume writing, how to navigate searching for internships and career positions, interviewing techniques, graduate school preparation as well as transition from college to career.|
|Internship and Scholarship Opportunities||SAGE Scholars have the opportunity to secure a paid, yearlong internship position at SAGE sponsor corporations and non-profit organizations. These internships allow SAGE Scholars to work on meaningful projects and the opportunity to receive a needs-based scholarship of up to $8000 per year.|
|Networking||SAGE has a large database of successful, active SAGE alumni and corporate contacts that we can help Scholars connect with.|
|Community Service||SAGE Scholars participate in community service projects across the UC Irvine campus and in the local Orange County area. The SAGE Scholars Program hosts 3 large-scale service-learning projects annually. SAGE Scholars are required to dedicate 30 hours of service, each year, to any non-profit organizations of their choosing.|
